Randy and Gay Hongo

Randy and Gay Hongo are music ministers who have been serving through Christian Vision for the past 35 years. They have released 19 CDs and have been the recipients of the Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Best Religious Album six times. They are currently working on their 20th album, a collection of songs about God's faithfulness during times of sickness and difficulty.
Randy is a graduate of Hilo High School, class of 1965. Gay is a graduate of Waipahu High School, class of 1965. They met at the University of Hawaii Manoa Campus and have been married for 46 years. They have one son, Andrew, who lives in New York and works for NBC television as an Associate Producer for the show "Dateline."
The Hongos are currently working on a play they wrote on the life of Henry Opukaha'ia, Hawaii's first Christian who was from Kealakekua, Hawaii. GLORY IN HIS SOUL, a one and a half drama with seven original songs, will be presented at Kalihi Union Church in Honolulu on February 17, 18, 24, and 25, 2018 on the 200th anniversary of Henry's passing.
The Hongos will be singing and sharing their testimony at the Kaumana Drive Baptist Church on Sunday, October 15. The worship service will begin at 9:40 a.m. The public is cordially invited to attend.
